Does
Medicare pay for CardioChek products?
Yes. However, at this time, Medicare will only pay for the
CardioChek system as a glucose meter. This includes associated
necessary supplies to measure your blood glucose at home. The amount
of Medicare payment for the CardioChek system as a glucose meter
varies by state.
Does Medicaid pay for CardioChek products?
Medicaid program coverage decisions for CardioChek product are
similar to the Medicare program. Therefore, Medicaid will only pay
for the CardioChek system as a glucose meter. This includes
associated necessary supplies to measure your blood glucose at home.
The amount of Medicaid payment for the CardioChek as a glucose meter
varies by state. Medicaid payment is usually comparatively low.
Does Medicare or Medicaid pay for PTS PANELS lipid panel test
strips?
No. At this time, Medicare or Medicaid will only pay for
CardioChek and PTS PANELS products as they relate to controlling
blood glucose.
Why won't Medicare and Medicaid pay for PTS PANELS lipid panel test
strips?
At this time, these health plans do not understand the value of
home lipid (blood fat) monitoring. We are working hard to help them
understand.
How do I file a claim to Medicare or Medicaid for the CardioChek
system as a glucose meter?
CardioChek products must be purchased from a provider that is
authorized to bill Medicare or Medicaid. We suggest you contact us
for the names of pharmacies and other firms that have the expertise
to either file a Medicare or Medicaid claim on your behalf. |
